Why do I suddenly want to start reading JW literature and going to Kingdom Halls?

is good calling me back or am i just letting my emotions get the best of me?also i really want to be closer to my jw family.

btw i was never baptized and i consider myself a born again christian i go to a baptist church and wath televangelist and i have expirenced gods presence like never before but sometimes i get fearful and think "what if jws are right and i'm wrong" than i'm screwed!but if there wrong and i'm right it doesn't look to good for them.. i would prefer if nobody posted "god isn't real" type comments.

i truly believe he is real but i respect why some are atheists..

What is the fate of the millions of people who lived before Jehovah's Witnesses even existed, say from 1898 on back ? Will their reading of the Bible on their own and developing a personal relationship with God and his Son without the Watchtower Society's influence be enough to save them from everlasting cutting off? If God has good things in store for mankind, why wouldn't you be part of it? Why would you receive the same everlasting punishment as Adolf Hitler just because you don't agree with or understand the ever changing doctrines of Jehovah's Witnesses, especially since you are obviously seeking him out ? Surely he (if he exists) must see how confusing it all is to us.

If anything, he may be angry with JW's for turning people (like me) away from him and ruining their interest in having anything to do with religion or the Bible ever again.

Drugs and Alcohol Ruin Your Life

this point was raised in another thread vaguely, and wanted to try and expand on it.. the wt has said (and rightly so in my opinion) "that excessive use of drugs and alcohol can ruin your life".

in my eyes this is a fact.. this is where it starts to get a little suspicious, as they also say (or subtly hint at) "that if you leave the wt you will becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol and will ruin your life".. its almost like a self fulfilling prophecy.

as there are a lot who leave the borg and they do start drinking heavy or smoking, or taking drugs...or whatever.. the wt capitalizes on the fact that people want more freedom, and they subtly ingrain the thought that.

I'm sure if this is true about former JW"s being prone to drug and alcohol abuse, it's due to the fact that they are suffering from a case of "arrested development"

"Born in's" or those who have been "in" a long time, have been using their religion as a means to cope with the realities of life. They often have developed little or no coping skills and turn to the most readily available means to ease the anxiety of being "out there without a net" once their support system is no longer in place.

at our assembly in alabama, no one got baptized, even though we added 3 congregations to our side in the circuit.

just looked at my wife and said wow.. yet ironically, the regular pioneer ranks have increased 45% in the last 5 years!.

Epic Discussion ( Confrontation ) with JW Cart People about WT Child Abuse

so i had about had enough of reading jw's excuses online about wt child abuse and the candace conti nightline abc video about her case.

this is a really deep burning topic to me as i'm sure it is to many of you.

so today the gloves came off.

It would be great to have the abc news video shown in the post above, downloaded onto a portable video device and play it for those who are manning the literature carts.

You could just walk up and ask if they saw this video on the news and wondered what they thought of it. If they say it's just apostate propaganda, you could ask them if they believe what the news says when they report Catholic Church for the same offense. You could pull out an old JW magazine with an anti Catholic cover article on it and ask them why they believe this kind of thing and speak harshly about it only when it's about someone else's religion?

Disfellowshipped for Tattoos??

are getting tattoos a disfellowshipping offense?

i know several jw's that have them but i always thought they were totally taboo.

what do you guys know about this?

I do know JW's who've recently gotten them but I think tattoo's are generally frowned upon and you are viewed as "immature" if you get one. Tattooing "No Blood Transfusion" on your arm is probably acceptable.

I knew a guy who was a biker when he started studying. Before he got baptized he had a bikini tattooed onto the naked lady on his forearm to make it look more acceptable. His wife had a small Butterfly done on her backside when she was young and slim but she had put on a a bit of weight and during her baptism the Butterfly looked more like a Condor.

ABCNews Nightline: Segment on JW absuse cases here......

here is the segment on the conti abuse case in california and jehovah's witness's response as reported on by the abcnews nightline broadcast which was shown early this morning.

it really displays some absolutely shocking behavior from not only her abuser and his (supportive) wife, but also the jw attorneys and elders via video.

i am just blown away by the audacity displayed by these monsters.. we can now understand why governing body member stephen lett slipped in his comments a couple of weeks ago about "untrue reports of child abuse" in one of his talks which can viewed on the cult's website.

I agree, pedophiles can be found in any organization but this is an Ex JW forum hence our interest in this particular religion's pedophiles. The Watchtower Organization has destroyed many an individual and many a family for lesser offenses, all in the name of pure worship and under the guise of being the one spirit directed true religion. They harshly punish those who break their own organizational rules but they themselves break Cesar's law as they see fit then turn around and use every means available within Cesar's law to avoid reproach or having to pay for their own wrongdoing. They are used to having the upper hand, calling all the shots and pressuring "sheeplike ones" into cooperating with them. Their authority means nothing in the real world and their ways are finally being exposed. This may not be enough to cause a mass JW exodus but more girls and boys may come forward and the organization will definetly suffer an erosion of its power over the flock.

most of us old timers left behind a stable, respected, religious heritage in our disillusioned haste to join a stupid cult.. as i recall, there was no rite of dissociation required - no reason offered to your church, no resignation required - it was a non-event from the dubs viewpoint.

what was your experience?

were you expected to do or say anything as you abandoned your spiritual heritage to become a drone in the watchtower hive?.

The JW insistence of new converts making a formal break with their former religion is more about rubbing it in the churches face than it is about anything else.
